Home Language International (HLI) is a family-run business offering language courses in more than 20 languages in over 30 countries worldwide, including French/English lessons at an experienced private teacher's home in France. More than 5,000 students take advantage of our services every year. Ian Josephs, Danielle Josephs, their 5 adult children and an expert team of dedicated staff all put in very long hours for HLI.
You stay in an experienced teacher's family home, have one-to-one French or English lessons and then continue to use the language during the rest of your stay in Nantes. Because you are the only student, you are guaranteed individual attention. The lessons are completely designed for you, so the teacher will focus exactly on what you need. Mealtime conversation, television and social contacts are all in French or English.
All of our teachers in France have a university degree (or equivalent) and/or a recognised teaching certificate. All teachers have been visited by one of our local organisers. Their qualifications have been checked and their homes throughly inspected. During your stay in Nantes, a local organiser will monitor your progress and make sure your experience is both happy and successful.

Immersion is not only the most natural way to learn a language — it is also the most effective. At Influent, every course is entirely tailored to you and your goals. Lessons are fully personalised, with your teacher focusing exclusively on your needs and objectives.
You choose your dates (Sunday to Saturday), and every lesson is adapted to your level and expectations. As the only student, you benefit from true one-to-one tuition and a learning experience designed just for you.
Institut Fonelia is located in the heart of Nantes, a few steps from the tourist sites. The excellent location of the school and its wide variety of courses make it an ideal place to study French: students can choose between general French courses, exam preparation or professional courses, and can choose between a few lessons per week (6 hours) and intensive courses (15 hours per week). Group classes are limited to 12 students to allow everyone to practice their oral French a maximum in class. In addition, students have homework to improve their written part, vocabulary, grammar, etc.
Private lessons are totally "à la carte" and can last from one to three hours.
Institut Fonelia has a study center with free Internet access and self-learning materials, a library and a student lounge. The school offers a weekly calendar of social, cultural and recreational activities inviting students to practice their French while visiting popular places of interest in and around the city and meeting other students.
