Learn English & Live in Your Teacher's Home in Dublin with Home Language International

I spend two weeks at a sheep farm in county Carlow, Ireland. I've never been on such a big farm and it was my first time that I observed all the farming process including feeding and milking sheep, cheese production and selling cheese at the markets. Although I did not have any experiences with sheep I was invited to take part and practise. Living very close to nature and animals was fascinating for me.
During my stay I had plenty of opportunities to communicate. I meet many people at the farm e.g. visitors, guests or neighbours.
The teacher was very friendly and encouraged me to talk about different topics in English. I did not have typical English lessons with coursebooks or teaching materials but I' ve learned many things through contact with people.
Also, I heard many new expressions and colloctations including farming, food produsing and agricultural vocabularies.I definitely could improve my listening and speaking abilities.
I was offered to take part on many activities e.g. visting castles, museums or the sea side. I saw differend landscapes and learned a lot about the Irish culture, history and identity.
