Our Individual Courses are suitable for all ages and available all year round, from Beginner to Advanced levels. Courses are highly personalized and tailor-made according to the student's requirements, allowing to a very flexible timetable .
Course programme can be focused on either General or Specialized Language, such as Business, Design, Art, Music, Medicine, Law, Marketing, as well as CELI exam techniques and preparation (we are authorized exam centre by University for Foreigners of Perugia for CELI and CIC exams)
In order to improved the student's cultural competences together with their language skills, and to have a more authentic experience, we suggest combining Italian classes with practical activities with the teacher in the afternoon, such as cookery classes, naturalistic hikes and excursions (i.e. Lecco, Como, Milan, Bergamo, Bellagio, Varenna), historical and artistic tours, shopping with personal shopper, and much more.
On top of the above programmes, students can choose among a wide range of optional activities such as adventure sports (windsurf, sailing, kitesurf on the Lake!), horse-riding, golf, wine-tasting, spas... not to mention EXPO 2015 in Milan, which is only half an hour away and definitely worth a visit!

IH Lake Como was founded in 1983 and has been affiliated to International House since 1995.
Our schools is strategically located in the amazing landscapes of the green Brianza, well-connected to the stunning cities of Lecco, Bergamo, Como, Monza, Milano. This is the ideal place where to enjoy an authentic experience, meet local people, and feel part of a community.
Homestay accommodation offers students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture, share experiences and feel part of a community while studying Italian in this wondeful area.
Families are carefully selected and often located either in Merate (walk distance or 10 to 25 minutes walk) or in one of the surrounding towns (Lecco, Garlate, Airuno, etc. which are up to 30 minutes away by public transport).
Families usually offer breakfast and Italian for dinner, enabling students to taste the local hearty cuisine.
