A Home Language International immersion course means you live the language you are learning and is the fastest, most natural way to learn.
You are staying in your teacher’s home, have one-to-one language lessons and continue to use and practise your language skills sharing the daily life of your teacher’s family during meals, conversations, visits and activities as they all take place in the language you are studying.
Programmes available

Qualified, experienced host teachers
10-25 hours per week of one-to-one language lessons + the chosen activities (ALL costs included)
Language programme with activities
Our programme with activities offers you the unique opportunity to put your language skills to immediate use after your lessons with activity based learning. Activities may include visits to local places of interest, national parks, shopping, cooking traditional foods, afternoon tea, bowling, mini-golf, swimming, board games, etc. These will depend on the family location and local events as well as your personal interests.
This programme includes:
Full board accommodation in your teacher’s home
10 to 25 hours private language lessons per week
5 to 20 hours activities including entrance fees (where applicable) and transport

First of all: I did not stay in the family. I just came to the place for my daily three hours course.
Location: Nice appartment in an lively area of Paris
Teacher: friendly
Good mixture of grammer and just talking
What did I expect:
I was not aware that the teacher has a full time job in a company and does the lessons on top during her working hours. It turned out ok as we were not interrupted but is a bit of a strange feeling that a person is doing two jobs at the same time.
I expected that I had fixed hours e.g. in the morning. The hours were every day on a different time. It worked for me but of course is my concentration in the evening lower then in the mornings
I expected to get homework from the topics we discussed during the three hours.
I expected to get school material ( sheets with explanations and sheets to fill in the learned topics- grammar, etc.). We did everything by discussing and talking and writing everything down on paper. Which was ok too. I studied back home in my books I brought from Germany.
I think that a written structure would help after the first get to know meeting so the pupil knows what tpoics will be discussed.
I took lessons in legal French with Claude and loved it! I improved my French a lot and learned a lot of new things.

She helped me not only with my grammar and speaking skills, but taught me a lot about history and culture. She took me on a number of interesting excursions, including the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Versailles and a tour of the Opera Garnier. I would highly recommend her as a professor and as a host.
